Provena Health Systems
September 8, 2009
To Whom it may concern:
Superior Health Linens took on Provena Heath Systems as a customer in July of 2003. At that time we had struggled with a series of linen providers including an OPL program, a COG program, and a full rental program. We had primarily used Medline products.
We experienced a number of problems: laundering and replacement costs were climbing; we were experiencing shortages; and, the linen quality and cleanliness just did not meet our expectations. We needed to find an alternative way to take care of our linen supply and laundry needs.
Back in 2003 SHL was still new to the Chicago market but had 16 years of experience in other markets. We needed to solve our problems and SHL assured me they would rise to the challenge of handling 2 hospitals and a number of smaller clinics.
I am happy to report SHL reduced costs, improved quality and has met our delivery requirements. Fast forward from 2003 to 2009 and Provena has a laundry budget in place and SHL has a plan to continue to contain costs on linen and laundry services.
As a result of meeting the quality and cost initiatives SHL was awarded 2 more hospitals, all of our senior ministries, and continues to rise to the challenge: SHL meets all our quality standards; We are not short deliveries of flat goods; And, SHL adjusts scrubs deliveries to ensure inventory does not deplete. Most importantly, SHL continues to be responsive to our needs.
SHL manages our linen committee meetings and we have confidence this will improve utilization and reduce costs. In addition to the linen committee SHL is providing outside support to help train CNAs and RNs in linen utilization practices. There are also Continuing Education Units available for those who complete their on-line classes.
I am pleased to be able to recommend SHL to you with confidence.
Sincerely,
Leonard Schmidt

To Whom it may concern,
Superior Health linens took on Rush Copley as a customer in July of 2008. In our case we had a long term relationship with a COG provider using Medline products. Replacement costs had really climbed in recent years and we needed to find an alternative way to take care of our linen supply and laundry needs.
We heard many reasons SHL would fail and while we were skeptical we were also desperate to reduce costs and have a budget in place and have a plan to continued cost-contained linen and laundry services.
SHL guaranteed we would meet our FY 2009 budget.
In FY 2009 our census is flat. Our pounds are also flat.
SHL meets all our quality standards.. We are happy with the quality of the work we receive. We are not short deliveries of flat goods and SHL adjusts scrubs deliveries to ensure inventory does not deplete.
SHL is responsive to our needs.
SHL has started a linen committee and we have confidence this will facilitate future linen efficiencies. In addition to the linen committee SHL is providing outside support to help train CNAs and RNs in linen utilization practices. There are also Continuing Education Units available for those who complete their online classes.
Most importantly, SHL is meeting the financial obligations they agreed to when we started with them.
We are positively sure that Superior Health Linens will continue to meet our needs and can recommend them to you with confidence.
Sincerely,
